Heather Webb’s Jam Room in Austin, Texas, is a supportive space where adults come together to learn about music and experience the awesome energy of being in a band. We are dedicated to providing members with a unique program, that takes them from learning new songs to practicing with their band to performing on stage for adoring fans. The band not only works together on perfecting their songs, but also comes up with a band name, theme and costuming, poses for a photo shoot and gets a custom show poster for each session. It is not just a music school. It is truly one-of-a-kind and has been called “The Ultimate Live Music Experience”.
We Are Hiring: Band Coaches
As we continue to grow and create unforgettable musical experiences, we are seeking two enthusiastic and talented band coaches to join the team. Each coach will be responsible for running weekly rehearsals for one or two bands for a 6-week session, (starting May 3rd) and also attend the summer showcase on June 20th.
Position: Band Coach
Location: Austin, Texas
Type: Part-time/Contract
Compensation: $50/hour for band rehearsals
You will be paid as an independent contractor, not an employee.
Responsibilities: Commit to six weekly 90 minute rehearsals (per band) where you are expected to do the following.
- Help members learn and perform together as a group, three to five new songs per session.
- Help band members set up their equipment and dial in good sounds from their amps.
- Run the PA.
- Foster a supportive, encouraging, and fun environment for all participants.
- Be a mediator for any disagreements that arise between band members, and help guide the group toward solutions.
- Download our community app and be available to answer questions and participate in conversations in the band group page.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in multiple instruments and strong musical knowledge.
- Experience in playing with a gigging band.
- Experience in teaching or managing groups.
- Experience with running a PA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music and helping others achieve their musical goals.
